Mother's Retirement Present
Retirement Gifts Women and Men
"My mother retired finally...and we threw her a large retirement party. Since she was a real estate agent and broker for almost 45 years, my husband and I and my brothers and sisters obviously thought of a real estate related theme. So we gave out to all her friends and relatives...almost 50 of them, a Deed to each of the states. Each got a different state. What fun! They all loved their new property. Thanks. What is Retirement?
Retirement, that is the act of retiring from work, has been a fantasy of man forever. It's always been a goal to aim for; it’s always been the rainbow after the storm; the clearing after the darkness; the happiness at the end of many years of hard labor. Yes, retiring is every man and women's dream.
Many though think that retiring is becoming tired twice; first you're tired of working...then you're tired of not! Those poor souls are the ones who haven't found what to do with their lives after working for over 20-30 years. These are the people who find it hard to decipher whether retirement is a reward for their lifetime of hard work...or, they wonder, is it their punishment?
On the other hand most people think retirement is a golden opportunity to get out of the rat race...and finally have a chance to eat the cheese. It's also the time to absorb all the good that's been around you forever but never had time to take in; like your family, friends, your home, your backyard or the views from your house.
Some say that life begins at retirement...but unfortunately for some retirement is not all that it's cut out to be. Some make sure that they have lots to do to keep them busy. Others can't find a thing to keep them occupied. But retirement is a challenge as well so make sure that you find activities, spend time with friends, create a hobby, do social service work...and most importantly, Have Fun!
Some men and women think retirement is wonderful. It's like playing hooky from school and not worrying about getting caught by the truant officer. Their only goals are to live longer than their money lasts.
Some fathers or mothers who retire early, or young grandmothers or grandfathers, find that retirement means no stress, no pressures, no burdens out of the ordinary. They're lucky. Retirement can be free-fall fun. Of course the problem with retirement is that you won't get a day off.
